Aluminium lantern roofs performance specifications
All our aluminium lantern roofs are 100% made to measure and designed to meet your exact specifications. Their maximum size is 6000mm x 4000mm with a maximum weight of 8000kg. They have a frame depth of 69mmwith internally beaded 28mm double glazing. With typical sightlines of 57mm, they’ll bring a wealth of natural light into any interior.
To help maximise thermal performance, our aluminium lantern roofs feature an innovative insulating T-bar. This bridges the gap between the profiles and the aluminium finishing caps to create the largest thermal break possible. When combined with high performance glazing and a thermally broken eaves beam, your room interior will remain at an ambient temperature all year round.

Is aluminium a better option?
Yes. Aluminium is stronger, more durable, more customisable, and more environmentally friendly than alternative material such as uPVC.
Can I have any size roof lantern?
The maximum size for our roof lanterns is 6m x 4m. Any bespoke size is available up to this maximum.
How easy are roof lanterns to install?
Roof lanterns are relatively easy to install for any experienced glazier. For homeowners, we recommend using a registered window fitter.
Do I need planning permission to install a roof lantern?
Most roof lanterns do not require planning permission. However, a roof lantern must not extend more than 150mm above the existing roof. It can also be no higher than the highest part of the existing roof and no openings are allowed unless the roof lantern is at least 1.7 metres from ground level.

June 17, 2023Very happy with our doors, we got a few quotes from some other companies which was in excess of £10,000 for 4 bi-folds – Prime Aluminium saved us over £3000. Anyone thinking about fitting yourself just make sure there is 2 of you as the panels are about 50kg each. Will recommend in the future to anyone looking for new bifold doors.
